This year I decided to go simple. I wanted something elegant, but easy. Right now, I’m obsessed with plaid. I feel head over heals in love with Scotland on my trip last spring, so I’m still very partial to plaid. I was thrilled when I saw that Target had such a fun line this fall. I’ve incorporated many of them, in small intimate dining room. The basic colors of black, cream and gold would really match any dining room decor.
So let’s get started!
You can see the main theme—plaid—is reflected in a disposable table cloth. I love the ease of disposable holiday items!
I found the wooden leaves in the craft aisle at Target. They were easy to stain.
They had 2 different shaped leaves, and I thought they’d be perfect to hold bread or hot dishes.
My centerpiece this year was the gilded centerpiece that I blogged about HERE. I loved how well it matched with the coppery gold thread in the plaid. And it was so inexpensive to make. The plaid plates added a nice touch and went perfectly with my white dinnerware.
The buffet was styled as well. You can see the plaid french coffee press. The mugs are from the dollar store but Target has a very similar style seen HERE, and have been gilded on the bottom. I picked up the cookies in the grocery area and placed them on a cake stand. I'm a sucker for cake stands. White cake stands are my favorite!
Another nood to Scotland— I have Dewar’s Scotch on the buffet. We drove by one of the factories and my husband has drank it since we’ve been married, so it holds a special place for us. I simply placed it on this tray, added an ice container I picked up at the thrift store, and a few of these fun plaid drinking glasses.
I found the banner by the tablecloth and just attached some craft letters to spell out Harvest.
Do you want this look for yourself? It's so easy! Just click on the links below for simple online ordering! You can also see that my brain wasn't working well when I set the table up. I kept thinking I was forgetting something and I was! The silverware and the dinner glasses! OOPS! It's always after that I realize these things. Haha!
