It’s hot in Texas. The July heat is upon us. My kids are going crazy for fruity fun drinks, but I have no desire to put them in the car and go through a drive thru.
Even during happy hour, those drinks are expensive! Cherry Limeade is at the top of our summer cravings list. As are blackberries and cherries. Why not combine them?
I introduce to you: Blackberry Mint Cherry Limeade. Why mint? Why not. It adds that extra touch of elegance.
I’ve also been yearning for the cooler weather that we experienced in Oregon, along with the fruit stands on every road that were stocked with fresh cherries and blackberries.
The area in Oregon that we lived in produced Marionberries which are a similar style of blackberries. We could pick them at the park, on our nightly walks, they seemed to grow everywhere there!
I’m also starting to think about upcoming bbq’s, entertaining on the patio, and hanging out with the neighbors in the evenings.
I’d love to offer this drink to them.
My kiddos enjoyed it, and the hubs even drank a glass! This would be perfect for a Labor Day Picnic or BBQ.
I’ve included the recipe so you can also enjoy this (and impress your friends!)
I even got my 14 year old to mush the juice out of the blackberries for me.
- 1 (12oz) can Frozen Limeade concentrate (I use minute maid)
- 2 (12 oz) cans Sparkling water (I use lime flavored)
- 1 pint Blackberries, fresh
- 1 bunch Mint, fresh
- 1 Tablespoon Cherry Sno Cone Flavoring
Prep time: 10 mins Cook time: Total time: 10 mins Yield: 2 quarts, or 5 (12 oz) servings
