I've had a lot of questions about the clock that is propped up on the homemade chalk paint dresser I posted earlier this week. Here's another peek at that:
The clock was actually another DIY project. I found it at Hobby Lobby looking sad and lonely at 90% off. It was 12.99, because it had been formally $129.99. Seriously. However, it was not the style I preferred and was missing the actual clock hands! Here it is before
That is one rockin' bronze clock!
The first thing I had to do was unscrew all the numbers. I was so thankful that this was possible because it made painting much easier! I also bought the hands for the clock at Hobby Lobby, for around 3.99. The box is in the picture, but the hands have been taken out. Not sure why. LOL! You can see my baggy of the screws. I put them all in the bag so I wouldn't lose any!
I used Oops Paint from one of the big box stores, and it was a pretty light grey. I simply painted them with a sponge brush. Easy Peasy. For the main clock, I took it outside and spray painted it. It took about 3 coats to get in all the cracks and crevices. After it dried I distressed it with a sanding block, and re-attached the numbers, added the hands and slapped in a battery.
Here are some more shots of it.
So what do you think? Do you prefer the lighter color or the bronze color? I'm a light and airy kinda girl, but I know my sweet hubs liked the manly bronze. I know we both liked the bargain price!
