I’m excited about pulling out all my fall decor. Somehow, Halloween seems to get the back burner to pumpkins and harvest items, and my kids complain. I decided I would utilize our dining room buffet this year solely for Halloween. They are so excited! I thought I would show you how easy it was to style, and how you only need a few items. I’m all about easy peasy! The buffet is a great place to feature the Halloween decor from Yankee Candle. I love Yankee Candles and they have been a part of our home since we got married. My mom bought us a Yankee Candle as a housewarming gift when we moved to our first apartment! The Halloween Decor adds such a fun touch, and a lighted wick always adds to the ambiance! So let’s get started!
This is a full view of our buffet. The chalkboard is homemade. I bought an oversized frame several years ago at a thrift store and simply painted the glass with chalkboard paint. I drew a simple spiderweb on it (and I’m not an artist! haha!). My Halloween banner from last year (click here to see it!) is draped over the chalkboard. I placed the googlie eyed spider in the web.
The black cat I picked up at Michaels Craft Store last year. I love how it looks just like the cat on the Happy Halloween Yankee Candle! The scent is black licorice and you’d swear you just opened a bag!
I made a simple plate of cookies right in the middle (because who doesn’t love cookies?!!!). Underneath the plate is a slate chalkboard cutting/serving board. I like how the rugged edges and dark color go with the mood. The Happy Halloween candle is in one corner and in the other corner I placed the Halloween Silhouettes Haunted House jar candle holder.
Taking pictures of candles is hard! I wish I could show you how awesome this candle holder is, especially when the flame is flickering. The crackled orange glass adds a fun somewhat “eerie” touch.
In the far corner, I placed a glittered pumpkin on a candlestick. The candlestick was another thrift store find that was simply spray painted black. Next to it is this darling little cat candle holder.
You can find it under Halloween Silhouettes Sophia Orange on the Yankee Candle website—it is an online exclusive! Inside is a Candy Corn votive candle. It smells so yummy and takes me back to Halloween parties as a kiddo!
I love how it’s eyes almost glow from the frosted orange jar behind it. She looks friendly enough—until you realize her claws are out!
See how easy that was to put together, and for not a lot of money. I love it when it works out like that! And the best part? Yankee Candle will send a "buy 1, get 1" large candle coupon that may be redeemed in-store or online to anyone who watches the Halloween video below and provides their email address and zip code within the video player. Those people who fill out the form will receive an email with the coupon which is valid from 8/31 to 9/27.
What’s your favorite way to decorate for Halloween? Do you go all out? Go for friendly or super creepy? Are you a big Yankee Candle fan like I am? I’d love to hear from you!
