WELCOME! I'm so excited that you decided to drop in for my Front Porch Tour! So come on in!
A very special thanks goes out to Front Porch Ideas And More. Also to our awesome friends at Hometalk!
First off, thanks so much for your patience. We didn't directly receive storm damage on our property, we were very blessed. However, the wind and storm was very bad, and there was no way to have this on my porch!
And then it never stopped raining! I told another friend I felt like we were living in Oregon again and not Texas!
Thanks so much for your prayers and concerns. Please pray for those in the community who did suffer downed fences, roof damage, hail damage, etc.
So lets get started!!!!!!
We have a large covered porch, but it is very narrow and also long. Decorating is never easy in this area. It is really probably only 4 feet wide.
You can see the directions for my fall wreath here. It was the center piece for the porch design.
The most challenging part? Flanking the doors! That little space is only about 6 inches wide. I went ahead and made my own planters. What do you think? Should I do a tutorial? Any guesses on what they are made out of?
The flowers are actually weeds that have been dyed and preserved with glycerin. I picked them up at the Round Top Antique Festival earlier this month. I also grabbed the wire basket while I was there. The flowers are simply tied with green burlap ribbon
Can you believe those are good old Texas weeds? I love the colors. They are soft to the touch as well, not brittle or crumbly. The vendor suggested not leaving them outside, but I'm gonna live on the wild side. This part of the patio does not get wet.
Pretty Pretty Pretty Pumpkins. I love a basket of pumpkins and squash. The patina and rust on the basket makes my heart swoon.
This is a closer shot of the bench that flanks the side.
For it, I threw in some fun highlights. The vintage window was a gift, and on each side are vintage corbel scroll designs that were salvaged off an old screen door. I love architectural salvage, don't you?
The vinyl design was purchased from Lori Whitlock's Shop. I love her designs, she makes it so easy peasy! I cut it out using my Cricut. Be sure and check out her designs-she is fab! Beneath the phrase is a berry wreath that I have had for many years.
I picked up this little felt pillow at Target the other day. Isn't it so cute? It was in the dollar area for $3, and at that point you can't really make one at that price! Bargain!
I have an insane amount of lanterns. There are 3 in this picture. I probably had 5 more in the house. I've picked them up over the years at many stores. Love them! You can also see the green canning jar above that I found at Kirklands.
There is also a wooden acorn up there too, a nod to the wreath (purchased at Hobby Lobby).
On the front side of the bench I have a rustic metal tin arrow that I found at Round Top. It will eventually go in the little boys room.
The metal holder I picked up at Good Will last year and it is full of gourds, leaves and sparkly pumpkins. The jack o' lantern above on the edge is a Halloween special from Longaberger a few years back.
Here it is, all together.
And on the opposite side, a pumpkin topiary and a cinderella pumpkin. I just can not resist that shape and color!
I also picked the urn up at GoodWill. I love the details on it.
A quick recap of the details, be sure to pin it so others can get a look or so you can remember the link.
I hope you enjoyed my tour! It was so much fun to put together! So what do you think? Anything in particular you really like? Would you like a tutorial on the skinny tall vases?
