Hey guys! If you noticed, I skipped Mondays With Mrs Major Hoff last week. I’m still finding my groove, and am so glad to be back blogging. But I’m fighting with myself on Mondays. I can’t decided between weekly, bi-weekly or just the first of the month for this series. That’s why I love you guys. Cause you can tell me. Do you like these? Want them more often? Not as often? Please leave a comment, shoot me an email, or drop me a message on social media. I can’t wait to hear from you!
As you can tell, my site has been going through some changes. I’ve recently been revamping it, trying to make it easier to navigate. Hopefully the menu bar at the top will make that easier for you. I’d love feedback on the site- so please tell me what you are enjoying, and what you are not enjoying. I appreciate your patience with me as I make these changes.
So now onto my 3 Favorite Things! Today I’m sharing some of my most used items. They are loved, even though some of them are more utilitarian than others, LOL. So here we go:
I know it’s silly, but I swear this water bottle is one of those daily things that makes me smile. I never knew I could love a water bottle this much. I’m going on almost 2 years with this girl, and she’s still going super strong. She has never leaked, is so easy to drink from, and she has a handy clip on the top. I clip her to my backpack when I’m traveling. Contigo water bottles are my absolute favorite. I’ve even been known to single it out when people are perusing them at Walmart. She’s inexpensive too! I pretty much paid for her with 1 refill at an airport in Norway. I filled her up at the faucets and turned around to see my companions had purchased airport bottled water at almost $6 a pop! I take her on my daily walks, on my daily errands and on big trips. She holds 24 ounces, so she goes pretty far. I did order THIS 32 oz bottle so I’ll let you know if it turns out to be just as good!
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like my kids are always hanging out by an outlet. Or stealing my cords. I purchased these because they are so colorful, that it’s obvious if someone has “borrowed” someone else’s cord. LOL. I needed a little extra length than what the standard Kindle cords offered. These have been a great purchase. We use them daily, and the colors are cheerful and fun. The length is perfect too! You can find them here. They carry several kinds, so be sure to find the one for your electronic device.
I’ve been a Cricut user for about 5 years. I absolutely love both machines that I have personally purchased. Last year, I treated myself to the Cricut Explore Air and I’m still in love with it. I use it for paper crafting projects, and it’s simple enough that my 9 year old has used it for school projects. You can do so much with it- from vinyl iron on designs for t-shirts to faux leather bracelets. Cricut announced last week that they are launching the BRAND NEW CRICUT EXPLORE AIR 2. It’s suppose to cut faster (yay!) and has some other new improvements. It’s not available until the 21st of this month, but you can still check it out! Best of all my friends, if you purchase from the Cricut Website from now until the end of this month you can receive 10% off orders (excludes Cricut Access) and FREE standard shipping! Find the deal HERE.
Whew. Now on to the other Favorites:
WHAT I’M READING:
Oh man, I’m not sure how I feel about this. I debated even sharing it. First off, I have to tell you, I’ve read Jojo Moyes before. Last year I read The Girl You Left Behind. I really enjoyed it. I would even say it made my top 10 for 2015. So I picked up another one. I picked up One Plus One at the library. I didn’t make it very far into this book. To be fair, it was a hand held book, and my vision doesn’t make that easy. But I never had an urge to get it on kindle. Then Me Before You hit theaters and I thought, why not. So I read it on the kindle. In less than 24 hrs. I was riveted. I couldn’t stop reading. The thing is, I don’t agree with this book. So does that suddenly make it a bad book? For all purposes— it was very captivating. I enjoyed my reading time. So because I hated and loathed the ending - well, does that make it suddenly not an enjoyable book? I can think of other books that I morally disagreed with, and sometimes stretching yourself means reading things that make you uncomfortable I suppose. I don’t want to give any spoilers away, so I’ll stop there (although I think most people have either read it or watched the movie). I did rent the movie, and I didn’t find it as entertaining as the book for what it’s worth.
WHAT I’M WATCHING:
For as much as Me Before You frustrated me, this movie made me smile. It is faith based, but I enjoyed the story line. It was cute, and fairly original. It wasn’t a movie that required a lot of thinking, which is one of my favorite types, LOL. I found this movie on Netflix.
Whew! That’s it for this week! Do you own any of my favorite items? Read the book or watched the movie I selected for this week?
