Welcome to the Virtual Progressive Thanksgiving Dinner! How fun is this? Talk about Thanksgiving ideas galore! I hope we all inspire you to embrace the season.
I was tasked with table decor, and I hope you like my ideas. First let's take a peek at my dining room and I'll tell you all my tricks to get this look.
We have the standard eat in breakfast area that most houses in Texas have. We don't have a formal dining area, so this one does double duty.
I have a buffet on the back wall that houses my coupons, school supplies & art supplies. It's a lifesaver. And it's fun to decorate!
Here are the table settings. I can't wait to tell you how EASY and CHEAP these are!!!
Here is a closeup. Have you guessed what those placemats are made out of? Deco-Mesh!!! Yes, seriously. The wreath material. I love it because it provides so much texture. I used a flat orange burlap style, as the shimmery seemed to be overwhelming.
Deco Mesh at Hobby Lobby for this style was $14.99. Don't forget to use a 40% off coupon! I barely used any! I simply measured the amount that I wanted and cut it out. It is basically like a giant graph, so easy to cut. I cut one corner and then used it on all the other corners so that they were even
To finish it off, I wrapped a small bit (about 6 squares wide) around the napkin a few times. I then wrapped onto of it with colored twine. It was the quickest, easiest napkin ring ever!
My centerpiece was easy peasy too! I simply placed a colored glass candle holder on top of a cake stand. Before placing it, I put a candle ring made of leaves below it to add texture and colors of the season. It is flanked on both sides by taper candles that are in candle stick holders. The holders I purchased from Dollar Tree and sprayed with the mercury glass look spray paint. The cake stand was a 50 cent garage sale find.
The leaf candle ring holder was purchased last year on end of season clearance at Hobby Lobby. The colored glass vase was purchased this fall from TJ Maxx. If you would like to make a wooden cake stand similar to mine, I saw that Pretty Handy Girl has a fabulous tutorial. Check it out!
The glasses are Dollar Tree as well. Plates are Longaberger and Pfaltzgraf.
The buffet is fun to decorate. In the middle is a plate of cookies, but they are hard to see! A woven pumpkin, candlesticks from the thrift store, pillar candles wrapped in more deco mesh and twine. The glass owl is so fun. The mercury glass look vase is an ikea vase also sprayed with Rustoleum Glass Look spray. The flowers tie all the Thanksgiving colors in.
The chalkboard above is a printable, and I shared it here. Be sure to download your free printable! I'm going to do a tutorial later in the week on how exactly I did the huge wall hanging (it's 2 feet by 3 feet!).
Here is a close up!
The gate leg table by the window also gets some fun touches.
A wrought iron book holder is on a yummy page! Another glass owl, glass pumpkin, and another vase with the glass look spray paint!
The corner wall is finished off with coordinating bowls, a green mason jar, pears and wheat.
So that's it! What do you think?
Would you use deco mesh for a fun and unique place mat?
