Treat your holiday guests to a B&B experience when you serve them this:
Cranberry Orange Pull Apart Bread!
We’ve entered the time of the year where everything seems to go up a notch. Suddenly we seem to have more on our plates. The holidays can be a stressful time with our endless to do lists. When your entertaining guests, especially overnight guests, you want to make them feel at home and to feel cozy. Today I’m giving you a simple recipe that will wow your guests and make them feel like your giving them a Bed & Breakfast experience! This cranberry orange pull apart bread has a secret time saver ingredient! Not only is this effortless recipe included, I’m also including my tips on how I can clean the house in a hurry with a few products that make it so much easier. Your guests will be overjoyed with a sweet treat at breakfast or snack time, and you’ll feel less stressed with all these time savers! I’ve even included my steps for wrapping the pull apart bread, just in case your guests dash in and dash out!
This sweet bread is unbelievably moist and tender, with sweetened cranberries interspersed throughout.
It features a brown sugar orange glaze that caramelizes beautifully in the oven.
Half the fun is pulling it apart.
The simple glaze on top gives it that decadent dessert like spin.
These little rolls are flavorful and a cinch to make. Did I mention they use frozen dough balls? You know, the kind that puff up to rolls? You will love my twist on these! Who would have thought they would make such a fun loaf of bread?
Combine your orange juice and melted butter.
Also, the brown sugar and dried cranberries.
Flatten your dough balls, and dip in the butter mixtureCombine your orange juice and melted butter.
Also, the brown sugar and dried cranberries.
Invert a loaf pan, so you can stack the dough. I like to overlap them.
Once you have placed the dough, sprinkle about 2 tsp’s of the sugar mixture. You can press the cranberries into the dough a bit.
Work your way up the pan. You will make it just past the halfway mark. Carefully turn the pan upright and distribute the dough. I have half leaning one way, and the other half going another
way. Sprinkle any remaining sugar mixture on top.
Bake as directed.
Once your bread has cooled, you can swirl the glaze on the top.
Above, I showed the cranberry orange pull apart bread on a platter. It could just as easily be served directly from the pan.
It’s such a fun bread to give away to your friends! These little bundles make great neighbor gifts!
Simply wrap parchment paper around the loaf pan and tie with twine, raffia, or pretty ribbon.
Some other things that I like to be easy peasy?
House cleaning! Yep, I said it. Let’s be honest. If we are having house guests, we have to make sure the house is clean. I like to do a few things quickly while my bread is rising. I like to do “double duty” or basically, two things at once. So once my bread is in the oven, off to clean I go. For the most part, my house is picked up, but when the guests are coming, I like to make sure I have all areas covered.
I start by grabbing the cleaning supplies that I know I can rely on.
Some of the SC Johnson cleaning supplies have been family favorites for years. The smell of Pledge® Spray products or Windex® Original Glass Cleaner will make me think of being little and watching my mom clean the house for guests.
The first thing I do is spray all the doorknobs, countertops and high traffic flat surfaces with Pledge® Multisurface Antibacterial - Spray. I love that I can use this on a variety of surfaces and not be worried because Pledge® protects the things I love as it gently cleans. The multisurface can be used on glass, sealed granite, stainless steel and more. You can find more surfaces by visiting HERE. The fact that this is antibacterial is important to me. The last thing I want to send a guest home with is a bunch of germs! Cleaning door knobs should occur in my house more times than what the reality is. Any high traffic area should, so don’t forget cabinet hardware or the remote control!
Another step in my process is doing a quick run through of my bathrooms. My favorite supply for cleaning my shower is Scrubbing Bubbles® Fresh Clean Scent Bathroom Cleaner. This is another product that my mom swears by. It not only works in the shower on soap scum, but it can also disinfect your sink, toilet and tile. Those little bubbles do the work for you! While your bread is rising and you’re spraying your doorknobs, those bubbles are cleaning and disinfecting!
My bathroom cleaning routine is the same every time. I go from one bathroom to another and follow the following steps.
Clear the clutter. I usually take out the towels for washing, and put away toothpaste, random toys, etc.
I use Scrubbing Bubbles® Fresh Clean Scent Bathroom Cleaner and spray down the sink and faucets, the shower, and lastly the toilet.
I will do the same in each subsequent bathroom (that way the cleaner has a bit of time to work).
I wipe down all those surfaces (using paper towels).
Next, I sweep the bathroom.
I then spray my mirrors with Windex® Original Glass Cleaner and wipe clean.
Lastly, I put in clean towels, and take out the trash!
One of the products I have really come to love over the last year is the Scrubbing Bubbles® Toilet Cleaning Gel. I was having a really hard time with lime scale and toilet rings. Rather than tackling the problem later with a pumice stone and elbow grease, the Scrubbing Bubbles® Toilet Cleaning Gel prevents it from happening in the first place. I only have to “stamp” a gel disc onto the bowl, below the rim once a week. The best part is it keeps my toilet cleaner for longer.
Being a hostess isn’t always easy. But I love presenting a clean home to my guests. Don’t get me wrong --- my home is far from perfect. I live in the reality of “real life”. So no sooner do I mop that front entryway, then a boy comes stomping in with muddy shoes. I want my guests to feel welcome, comfortable and to feel at “home”. But I also don’t want to lose my sanity.
That is the reason for double duty. I often use my timer and set a breakdown of 10 minutes in this room, 10 minutes in the next, and try to see if I can get all my work done before the timer goes off.
My final task of all is using a Glade® room spray. For me, it’s like the icing on a cake. Nothing makes a home feel more comfortable than a wonderful smell. I like to use Glade® Apple Cinnamon Automatic Room Spray, which is perfect for the fall. Using the spray adds that classic homey feel. Glade® evokes so many memories and emotions with their scents. I love the pine scents for Christmas (all the fun of a real tree with none of the mess)!
How easy was that? Do you feel prepared for your holiday guests? I hope these quick cleaning tips, and a super easy recipe will help turn your home into an ideal spot for your holiday guests.
The truth though is, even if your house isn’t “perfect”, your guests will love you anyways.
