I don’t know about you, but I sometimes really struggle with what to get for my husband. He’s pretty low key, but he does appreciate a gift that some thought has gone into it. Earlier this month, a few bloggers decided to get together to host a Mason Jar Christmas Gift Idea Blog Hop (you can find all the entries down below at the bottom of this post!). I loved this idea. Who doesn’t love to get a gift in a jar? I picked “Gifts For Men”. I thought long and hard about what would be a thoughtful gift, a masculine gift, a useful gift and last but not least— a gift that would fit in a mason jar!
After tossing many ideas back and forth (golf jar, ties in a jar, etc), one day it hit me! My husband is always asking me, “Where did you put the bottle opener? Where’s the wine stopper? Corkscrew?”. That is how I came up with “Bar in a Jar”. I did put 2 bottles of alcohol in (just so in case of emergency, he would have some handy if a friend dropped by), but most are those handy little gadgets you need for a well working bar. The best part is the mason jar keeps them contained and he won’t have to ask me all the time where I’ve put something. I think he will really enjoy his Bar in a Jar. I’ve also provided those cute but masculine gift tags so you can print your own should you make this gift. See how easy that is?!!!
Besides the little travel booze bottles, I’ve included a paring knife (it’s not too sharp—but please pack it with blade down in the jar!). I’ve also added a measuring jigger, a wine stopper, a bottle opener, fun fruit picks and umbrellas, and this really cool corkscrew.
The thing that I love the most about this corkscrew?
It folds up nice and compact! How cool is that? I found it at my local HEB grocery store.
It’s not really a party without the garnish picks, stirrers, and umbrellas, is it?
I traced the jar lid on a glittery paper and cut it out to fit on top. The shimmer is so festive! Of course, the fun printables help too!
Start by placing the breakable bottles in first, and work your way around the jar. Be sure all sharp items are pointing downwards!
You can see that everything fits in pretty easily. I love that the bottle is marked too, in case hubs needs to measure anything. I placed some extra napkins in, and added some black tissue paper to finish it off.
Wrap the twine around the jar and add the printable! All done! Easy Peasy and inexpensive! Besides the mini liquor bottles you can find similar pieces below to make your life easier! Simply click and you can order the pieces you need!
